beloved husband of Joan, beloved father of Adena & Jeff Kaufman, Mark & Noky Samson, Laurie & Nicholas Rubin, and beloved grandfather of Brianna, Brandon, Austin & Mila.

There will be a private family funeral
Services will be held Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7.00 pm in Irvine.
‘Chalky’s Chuckles’ was a column in the SAJAC magazine that was filled with jokes that always brought joy and made everyone smile. It was the epitome of who he was as a person, husband, father, oupa, uncle and friend to many all over the world. Chalky was truly the sweetest, kindest, and funniest man with a laugh that will always be remembered!
Born on November 25th, 1934 in Maitland, he always lived his life with the highest integrity, respect for every person he came into contact calling them my friend” or “my mate,” teaching us the importance of family, being Jewish and giving of yourself unconditionally, playing casino, watching rugby and enjoying a fudge bar. He was a ray of sunshine that truly lit up every room he entered.
Chalky passed away on August 20th, 2022 and as his first yahrzeit is approaching we will always be grateful for the privilege and blessing of calling him our own. Each moment with him was cherished and each “I love you” will be remembered.
He was an incredible husband of 58 years to Joan. He touched the lives of so many and we promise we will continue to honor him each and every day. He is SO incredibly missed and we will love him forever.
