SUMMARY:Guest Speaker Gail Loon Lustig from CHOL & AGM
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome our guest speaker\, Gail Loon Lusti
 g\, an expat who has made Israel her home since 1976. Originally from Bell
 ville\, Cape Town\, Gail studied Medicine and has always felt a strong con
 nection to her roots and family. This bond has inspired her to write and s
 peak about her experiences. In Israel\, she worked as a GP while also dedi
 cating her time to volunteering with various South African organizations.\
 n\n\n\n\nAfter retiring in 2022\, Gail connected online with Geraldine Aue
 rbach from the UK\, and together they became involved in developing CHOL (
 Community History Online). CHOL focuses on encouraging people to share the
 ir stories\, particularly through writing and reading.\n\nGail will share 
 with us how CHOL has grown organically into a thriving forum that brings t
 ogether Jewish South Africans from all around the world. She will tell us 
 about the journey of CHOL’s creation\, how it fosters storytelling\, and
  how their website connects South African Jewish communities globally. You
 'll also learn about their Zoom presentations and the valuable resources a
 vailable for those interested in further research.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’d love
